Art Retreats International is the inspired creation of Ruth Rich – artist, teacher, guide and entrepreneur – who has been successfully promoting professional art & workshops in Australia for over ten years.

Morocco 2010

Just a short flight from Europe, Morocco is a world away in culture and appearance. At the northwest corner of Africa, hemmed in by the Atlantic, the Mediterranean and the Sahara desert, it has a rich and various landscape.  Marrakech has a history as exotic as any city in the world, beginning as a trading post on a caravan route from the Sahara, and becoming one of Morocco’s imperial cities.

The Moroccan retreat with Tim Maguire & Anthony Sattin is timed to end just a week before the Tuscany retreat with Elisabeth Cummings begins. This allows you to take full advantage of being ‘in retreat’ (away from the stress of home, family or work), and focus on your own creative development. See website for dates and details.

In November we journey to enigmatic Japan, where under the sensitive guidance of master photographer Paul Whitton, our journey unfolds in a land steeped in cultural mysteries and scenic wonder – to Miyajima, where time has been suspended for 300 years… Hiroshima with its message of peace… Kyoto, where we stay in an historic Zen Buddhist temple, and other timeless & magical regions…
